My fascination with the written word began when I was a very small child. I’d stay up late most nights with my nose buried in a book and spent my summers volunteering at the local library. Reading was an escape from real life, an adventure to embark on at any time I wished.
Despite my endless love of literature, it took me years to realize that I have a voice I want to implement. I always kept a regular journal. I dabbled in writing poetry. English was my favorite subject all throughout school. Still, I never thought of writing as a serious endeavor to pursue.
A couple decades after my library days, a coworker approached me and asked me to write for her new website. I had no real experience, but I thirsted for a creative outlet in my life. Why not? I certainly have plenty to say. Thus began the birth of my writing career and, in turn, my rediscovery of my true self.
It’s not the easiest path, but I have no choice. Words well up inside me and demand expression. No matter what I do, I always come back to what I love: writing, nature, yoga and meditation. They may sound quite different, but I firmly believe that they are all deeply interconnected in this journey of life. I strive to blend everything I love into a cohesive method of aiding, understanding, and bonding with others.
That’s the goal.
